“Collections 101: COVID’s Impact & Recent Developments On Assessment Collections”
The collection of delinquent assessments is an issue that will likely face nearly every community association at some point in time. Recently, one of the unfortunate side effects of the COVID-19 pandemic is the explosion of consumer debt. This includes assessments and other amounts owed to community associations. This also leaves managers and boards, already in the unenviable position of having to pursue friends and neighbors, in an awkward situation in the midst of a pandemic.

This presentation will cover basic collection strategies for community associations as well as a brief overview of recent state and federal legislation that impacts how communities may collect assessments.
