We will begin with a legal presentation of the new Washington state statute regarding middle housing and ADU's, what it requires and entails, and finally how it may affect associations. We will further cover what associations may need in place to address current and future ADU needs.
Presenter, David Osaki, AICP, is a Middle Housing Policy Specialist with the Washington State Department of Commerce. He has served as Community Development Director for several Central Puget Sound cities including Fife, Monroe and Mukilteo overseeing functions such as planning, zoning, building and human services. David has a Masters degree in City and Regional Planning from Rutgers University and a Bachelors degree in urban planning from the University of Washington. He has been a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners.
